On Saturday, June 13, GC Pianofabriek was transformed into a true crossroads of languages and imagination for our multilingual evening. It was a night dedicated to creativity, sharing, and connection, where words—no matter the language—wove meaningful links between performers and audience.

The evening opened beautifully with “Trio,” a performance created by participants of the Improvyglot workshops. Three main stories set the tone: a family tale haunted by ghosts in the attic, told in English; an absurd and delightful rivalry between farm horses and cows, in French; and finally, an unforgettable day at a gelateria, playfully shifting between Spanish and Italian.

In between, shorter stories enriched this linguistic journey, bringing Dutch, German, Russian, and Polish to life on stage. And yet, beyond the languages, everything felt perfectly clear: emotions, intentions, and humor flowed effortlessly across linguistic boundaries. A wonderful demonstration of the power of improvisational theatre.

The evening continued with “Impro Tempo,” a performance where improvisation meets music. Carried by the expressive piano of Miriam Makram Ghatas and the atmospheric lighting of Jordan Tahay, Laurie Andrieu and Dan Gelbard (Atlas), joined by their guest Evelien Den Tandt from the Dutch-speaking company Swiep, brought improvised stories to life in French, Dutch, and English, directly inspired by interactions with the audience.

The result? A moment that was poetic, funny, moving, and delightfully unpredictable.
A heartfelt thank you to Pianofabriek for their trust, and to our audience, whose energy and contributions fueled each performance, helping us push beyond language barriers together.
Bedankt aan iedereen die deze avond mogelijk heeft gemaakt!
