Babel Games at the start of the academic year at Haute École Louvain en Hainaut (Helha)

On 23 September 2026, the Babel Games team went to the Théâtre Saint-Luc in Tournai to take part in the start of the academic year at Haute École Louvain en Hainaut.

To highlight Helha’s international character and offer an extraordinary evening, the opening ceremony was interspersed with multilingual scenes, inspired by videos of students who had studied abroad and the speeches given that evening.

Thanks to audience members who had travelled all over the world, the actors performed a four-language scene (FR/EN/ES/NL) on the banks of the Congo, translated a lecture on the importance of marine life in Greek, discovered the culinary generosity of Slovenia, went in search of miso (‘water’ in Japanese) and sang an improvised musical about dreams and hopes for the coming academic year!

A fantastic multilingual programme for a wonderful evening full of smiles and travel! A huge thank you to Helha for their warm welcome!
